Crowns

A crown is a dental restoration that fully covers the tooth. It is cemented in place. They are used to prevent further destruction of the tooth when the tooth is fractured, broken or when a large filling is in place. A crown can be made of porcelain, gold or metal, or a combination of porcelain and metal. A crown is usually needed after root canal treatment as the tooth is fragile, or to improve the appearance of a tooth.

 Crowns :: The damaged tooth is prepared. A crown with a metal base and porcelain coating is made. The crown is fixed in place. Under certain lighting, the metal base can sometimes be seen.
