At Meares Dental Surgery we want to help you get full benefit of all your dental entitlements.

If you are currently employed and paying PRSI contributions then you may be entitled to a yearly check up. You can find out more by browsing to Citizens’ Information or Gov.ie using the buttons below, which will take you to dental specific information under the Treatment Benefit Scheme.

The Treatment Benefit Scheme is available to insured workers (including the self-employed and retired persons) who have made the necessary PRSI contributions.

It provides one free oral examination per calendar year and a reduced-cost scale & polish treatment, helping you maintain excellent dental hygiene and spot any issues early.

The following qualifying criteria apply:

  • Having paid the required number of PRSI contributions
  • Being insured as an employee, self-employed person, or retired person under the relevant categories
  • Having contributions paid at the appropriate PRSI class (typically Class A, E, P, H, or S)
  • Meeting the minimum contribution requirements for the applicable age group
